Found: The White Rumped Shama is native to SouthEast Asia, but has in the past decade also been released into Hawaii. In these places, they will reside in the undergrowths of a variety of forests.
Description: The males are glossy black with a chestnut belly and white feathers on the rump and outer tail. Females are a greyish-brown, also usually being shorter than males. Both sexes have pink feet and a black bill.
Diet: The diet of this species mainly consists of various insects.
Comments: The white-rumped shama is a relatively shy bird, but very territorial. The territories include a male and female during the breeding season with the males defending the territory, but each sex may have different territories when they are not breeding.
