Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush

(Garrulax monileger)

Weight: 56-135g

Found: These birds can be found in SouthEast Asia, and across Thailand in evergreen forests, secondary forests, hedgerows and also more open areas of land.

Description: The Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush can be identified by its brown body and foliag, white head, and a distinctive black streak crossing its eye from beak to neck. It has round yellow eyes, a brown cap on its head, and a circle of dark feather around its breast which gives it the ‘necklaced’ name.

Diet: Berries, small fruits and seeds, as well as insects and their larvae.

Comment: When in Thailand, the Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush will mainly be found around the North and West of the country, preferring to spend their time in tropical forests here.
