Anthus hodgsoni

Found: Winters across broad southern region of Asia, from peninsular India, east to Southeast Asia and the Philippines. Commonly found in habitat consisting of open fields and evergreen woodland.
Description: Greenish brown streaked with darker brown above. Supercilium, double wingbar and outer rectrices whitish. Whitish to buff below streaked with dark brown on breast and flanks. Sexes alike.
Diet: Largely insects, but will also take seeds.
Comment: The scientific name of this bird commemorates the British ornithologist Brian Houghton Hodgson.
