Pycnonotus atriceps

Wingspan:

Weight: 20-30g

Description: The Black-headed Bulbul has olive-toned plumage with a black or dark blue head and wing tips, their eyes and round and a distinctive bright blue.

Found: These birds are found mainly in SouthEast Asia, and can be found in many of Thailand’s forested landscapes.

Diet: This species feeds mainly upon small fruits and berries, and will eat insects opportunistically.

Comments: Black-headed bulbuls tend to congregate and live in small flocks of between six and eight birds. They dislike human contact, and if a human touches their nest whilst their young are inside, the bulbul will leave the nest and abandon their offspring there.
