Egretta garzetta

Weight: 350–550g

Found: This species can be found across Southern Asia, Australia, Africa and Southern Europe, and are very common across Thailand also, continuing to grow in population.

Description: The Little Egret has a long neck in comparison to its body, black legs and yellow feet, and a long and slender black beak.

Diet: mainly fish, also amphibians, insects, small reptiles, mammals and birds

Comment: Little Egrets are social birds, who enjoy living in flocks by bodies of water. They will utilise their long legs and run to chase their food on land, whereas in the water they can use their long slim beak to spear fish.
